Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about AOI Web Pro
What is AOI Web Pro?
AOI Web Pro is an aerodrome safeguarding software for aviation professionals. It evaluates obstacles against Part 77 surfaces, including OLS, OFS, OES, VSS, BRA, and user-defined surfaces (airspaces, modified OLS/OES, PANS-OPS).
What is it not?
AOI Web Pro is not a design software. It can procedurally generate OLS, OFS/OES, VSS and BRA, but it cannot be used to design custom surfaces, airport layouts, flight procedures, airspaces, etc.
What evaluation types does AOI Web Pro support?
AOI Web Pro supports evaluation of OLS, OFS/OES (revised 2025 ICAO Annex 14), Visual Segment Surfaces, Building Restricted Areas for navigational aids, and Custom Surfaces.
Is AOI Web Pro ICAO compliant?
Yes! AOI Web Pro follows ICAO Annex 14 standards, ICAO Document 8168 Volume 2 and the EUR Doc 015 for the generation and evaluation of OLS, OFS/OES, VSS and BRA.
Does it support evaluation of custom OLS criteria?
Yes, you can create an OLS criteria according to your Part 139 requirements, or you can import a set of custom surfaces for your modified OLS, OES and BRA and use the Custom Surfaces application to evaluate the obstacles against the custom surface.
What about PANS-OPS surfaces?
These surfaces can be created by your Flight Procedure Design Service Provider, and exported as a GeoJSON or GML file. You can then import the GeoJSON file into AOI Web Pro to create a custom surface.
